In August 2017, Julia came to Son Campaner as oenologist. Crafting in a traditional manner, she supports the vines to bring out their best of the respective variety without pushing them in a particular direction. As little as possible she intervenes in the ecological system of the vineyards, so that the wines reflect the terroir of Majorca. Wherever possible, Julia avoids using artificial fertilizer and pesticides – the vines should be able to feed themselves and (re)activate natural defences. With her extensive experience and her fine sense, Julia is side by side with the plants. And finally, when the wines have to mature, Julia shows a great patience. After completing a 3 years professional training for vintners followed by a 4 years oenology studies in Germany, Julia made wines in Austria, Switzerland and Canada. Since 2014 she has been working on the island of Majorca.
Julia’s motto: Let the wine be instead of making it!
Paul has been responsible for the commercial management of the bodega since March 2017. His home is in the southwest of France. There he already worked in different wineries and his passion is wine. He completed his business studies in the United States and Spain. Paul will take care of your enquiries, wine tastings in Spanish, English or French, wine sales and administration. He will welcome you to Son Campaner and makes sure that you feel comfortable.
Paul’s motto: nothing is any good unless it results in action!
Dimitri, originally from Sofia in Bulgaria and already living on Mallorca for decades, has been working for Son Campaner since 2011. He cultivates the vines all year round. From pruning, suckering, shoot thinning, shoot positioning and defoliating under Majorcan heat, to reducing yield and finally harvesting: he´s always found outside in the grapevines. Dimitri supports the team wherever it´s needed: whether during long nights of grape pressing or for hours of bottling.
Dimitri’s motto: slow and steady wins the race!
